Director: Andy Saunders
This is a fun music video/documentary that is enjoyable while it lasts. One Direction's early songs are fun and light-hearted and the tone of their stories and their personalities are very upbeat. Definitely they have lots of appeal across generations. Sad they broke up a few years ago.
The concert filmed on 3rd January 2012 at the The International Bournemouth BIC Arena in London, is great, they are excellent live singers and entertainers and of course dancers too. The concert is very entertaining, they have a short video segments between set changes and whatnot, if you are a fan of One Direction this is a must have.
However the most disappointing thing is that the concert is very short, just about 73 minutes long. I think it should be a bit longer maybe an hour and half with a few extra songs for the encore instead of the one. This concert film finds the boys performing before a live audience, on such numbers as the opening Na Na Na, Stand Up, I Wish, I Got A Feeling/Stereo Hearts/Valerie/Torn, Moments, Gotta Be You, More Than This, What Makes you Beautiful and Up All Night. The sound quality and production values are first rate, the music and soundtrack perfect.
The DVD includes extras, "On Tour with One Direction", an exclusive behind the scenes documentary revealing life on tour and 3 official music videos What makes you Beautiful, Gotta be you and One Thing.
1D consists 5 of the most talented, good-looking, beautifully vocal, funny, and overall amazing British boys namely Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson; former member Zayn Malik departed from the group in March 2015. All have now taken on solo careers after the break up. The boy band One Direction shot to fame via their participation in the competitive reality program X Factor, while being mentored and groomed by music producer Simon Cowell. Following work on a debut album in tandem with Savan Kotecha, their first single was issued in late 2011 to massive sales figures.
If you like One Direction you'll love this DVD, and for people who didn't see them perform live (like us in India), it's a great opportunity to watch them on stage. It's almost exactly like being at one of their concerts. It makes you want to be 18 again. Their singing is spot on.
