Treat yourself to some psychedelia from Pink Floyd.

Columbia recording artist and Pink Floyd founder Roger Waters toured the United States for the first time in 12 years in 1999-2000 with his highly acclaimed In The Flesh show that presented for the first time a comprehensive overview of Waters’ music including: early Pink Floyd material; classic compositions from his masterpiece albums ‘The Wall’ and ‘Dark Side of the Moon’; less well-known pieces from albums ‘Animals’, ‘Wish You Were Here’ and ‘The Final Cut’; songs from the solo tour de force Amused To Death and The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking; and the debut of a new song, Each Small Candle.

So this has to be one of the best concert DVD's out there from the band that consists of guests members like Doyle Bramhall II on guitars and vocals, Graham Broad on drums, Jon Carin on keys, Andy Fairweather Low on guitars and three beautiful female vocalists Katie Kissoon, Susannah Melvoin and P P Arnold. There’s also Andy Wallace on Hammond / Keys and Snowy White on guitar and of course the man of the moment Roger Waters on guitar and bass guitar. All members complement each other and are really incredibly tight in all songs.

The band plays the well known songs that we have come to love over the years. This is a live concert with extremely good camera work, a sound track that is of good quality which sets the whole DVD off properly with 170 minutes of the band on stage, plus lots of back ground stuff.

The concert starts off with a bang with In the Flesh followed by a tight rendition of Happiest Days of Our Lives and Another Brick in the Wall Part 2. Then comes the heartfelt and surreal Mother where Roger actually plays the guitar in this one. The three female vocalists give off their best.  Next off are 2 songs from 'The Final Cut' namely Get Your Filthy Hands off my desert and Southampton Dock both played and delivered beautifully, but very short. You then move on to 2 songs from 'Animals' - Pigs on the wing Part 1 and Dogs. The show moves on to the master blaster of all tracks - three songs from 'Wish You Were Here' album Welcome To The Machine Wish You Were Here sung by Waters and the Syd Barrett tribute Shine On You Crazy Diamond (parts 1 -8) featuring Snowy White's best guitar work.

If you’ve struck a chord and are singing to the songs, sing on with Set the controls for the heart of the sun, an old Floyd classic that gets a welcome R&B groove and a very bluesy sax solo (yes, sax solo) in the middle. Then of course is the mother of all albums - 3 songs from ‘Dark Side of the Moon’. You have Breathe (In the Air), the ticking clock in Time and the jingle of jamming coins in Money, all delivered by Waters, that is sure to send shivers up your spine.

The set now moves over to 5 selections from Waters solo years, Every Strangers Eyes sung very emotionally with beautiful lyrics. You then move on to more of his work with 4 selections from Waters amazing 'Amused to Death' solo album. The hit offs are Perfect Sense 1&2 a song perfect for a live gig, followed with The Bravery of being out of Range, a real heavy song that is played and sung with a lot of energy. He ends it with It's a Miracle and Amused to death a gem from that album that is sung flawlessly by Waters and the female backup vocalists.

Waters reverts to his Pink Floyd days with the explosive Brain Damage/Eclipse closing with Comfortably Numb. David Gilmour’s part is sung by Doyle Braham II. He does a good job no doubt about it.

The concert ends with a new song Each Small Candle which is a poem written by a torture victim. Really heartfelt lyrics delivered beautifully by Waters.

Nobody does the Pink Floyd songs as well as Roger Waters and his band. Pink Floyd or classic rock fans. This is a must for your collection. Words can barely describe the brilliance and musical genius displayed in the concert/opera brought to you by Mr. Waters. If you like Pink Floyd style of music, you’re in for a treat.
