Tiesto in Concert (Import)

We move into a space in time where Tiësto was the trademark for trance. His first Tiësto in Concert shows in 2003 and 2004 are still legendary for those who have followed him closely. This idea, of one DJ playing alone to a large crowd was new then. It was only much later that the trend caught on and EDM came on in a big way and DJs were the new crowd pullers at music concerts.

Tiësto was the first DJ to hold a solo concert in a stadium. This DVD has highlights of his “Tiesto In Concert 2” shows from October 29th and 30th 2004 in the Gelredome arena in Arnhem

The theme of these shows were “Magik”. All sorts of “Magik” were incorporated into the shows, from lasers, visuals and lots more, complementing Tiësto’s sounds with visual entertainment. Also several guest performers showcased their talents by performing with and alongside Tiësto during the night, such as Matt Hales from Aqualung, violin player DJ Mason, Micha Klein, the Bulgarian Children of Orpheus choir, amid loads of fireworks.

The highlights for me are the tracks Open Your Heart, Lethal Industry, Just Be, Goldrush, Traffic and Suburban Train the last one done with 'The Children of Orpheus' choir. Other toppers include Euphoria featuring DJ Mason. The closing track is an old anthem Silence done with Sarah McLachlan. The titles are of course all older songs, with almost all the big titles Tiësto’s famous for. The stage show and effects are wicked.

What a fantastic DJ set this is. I find it incredible that one man can move so many people at one time, and it s now wonder it suits the 3-time-in-a-row winner of DJ Mag's Top 100 list well.

This ain't just some bloke putting records on. This is a true showman working his magic. If you are a fan of trance and Tiesto, that goes hand in hand really, I mean you can’t be a true trance fan if you don’t like Tiesto.

This DVD shows what a master Tiesto is. Working the crowd up, all bouncing in unison. The atmosphere at the concert is captured so well and the crowd shots make you feel like you are there. Goosebumps from the opening notes to the conclusion makes this the most essential purchase for anyone even remotely interested in dance music and Tiesto himself.

This setlist is a wonderful way to dream away his music. You can make that happen, set up a lovely evening on the couch, light soft, incense on, a heady drink to go with it, Dolby surround on and go with that sound and have a blast all this in 5.1 Dolby Digital sound.
