If you’ve seen them live, you know what to expect, for the five man rockers performed in Mumbai India on 19^th November, 1998 as part of ‘Def Leppard – In The Flesh’. What a great show it was to anyone who actually witnessed it. I've seen them live and this DVD is the next best thing for Def Leppard fans.

On 15^th July, 2016, Def Leppard rolled into one of America’s most famous rock ‘n’ roll cities –Detroit and filmed their performance with their massive set. 

In the summer of 2016, Def Leppard's World Tour rolled into the DTE Energy Music Theatre, Clarkston, Michigan on the outskirts of Detroit. As the sun began to set over a packed crowd the huge video wall behind the stage came to life with the exploding image of the band's latest album cover and Def Leppard began to power their way through a stunning setlist of classic hits and new tracks.

Featuring superb surround sound and amazing visuals this film captures the full-on experience of Def Leppard live in concert like never before. The set list includes the best works by the band heavy on the album’s ‘Hysteria’ and ‘Pyromania’, and songs from these album are the very songs the average Leppard fan wants to hear over and over again from the rockers who have an equally number of heartwarming ballads.  Songs like Pour Some Sugar On Me, Photograph, Rock of Ages, Animal, Love Bites and Hysteria are just damn good tunes custom made for the sing-along arena rock crowd. 

You also had the other chartbusters like Dangerous, Let's Get Rocked, Rocket, Let's Go, and more. The package also includes five bonus music videos namely Let's Go (lyrics video), Let's Go, Dangerous, Man Enough and We Belong. 

They play all of their classic hits and it's obvious that they want to give their audience a night to remember. The one big advantage of course is that you can experience it over and over again on this DVD.

One of the simple truths in life is that Def Leppard fans love seeing Def Leppard perform live in concert.  Another truth is that the members of Def Leppard love performing for them.  In this day and age, a live performance by Lep is a perfect mix of fun songs, a great lightshow, a huge stage, killer guitars mixed with vocal harmonies recreating a slab of classic tunes that make one want to return to the 1980s. 

Joe Elliot is a fine front man and he handles the lead vocals capably, while Phil Collen, Rick Savage and Viv Campbell cover the high notes extremely well (with or without any added technology).  Instrumentally, the band performs proficiently and is amazing to watch. At the end of the day, this is a perfect representation of a band that still kicks live.  They have the look, the songs, the enthusiastic crowd, the showmanship and the cool ass video and light presentation to keep going on for as long as they want.

The concert is great, even though the track list is relatively short with 17 songs. But still a must for all fans of Joe Elliott & Co, who prove once again that they still have what it takes.Since it was filmed in HD, this DVD is still great viewing quality. If you're a fan and can't afford to see them LIVE, this works fine. I've been a big fan for a while and knew I wanted a DVD of the band who is featured in my book ‘The Great Rock Music Quiz Book’. This concert DVD is great and I would recommend it to anyone who loves the band.

The DVD comes with a booklet with some stunning shots of the band in action, detailed track listing, and has an introduction by band member Phil Collen and a music experience of watching Def Leppard by David Fricke of Rolling Stone, dated October 2016.
