Bryan Adams - Live at Slane Castle - Ireland 2000 (Import)

Set at the base of a historic castle in County Meath, Ireland, ‘Bryan Adams: Live At Slane Castle’, brings fans a night of unforgettable rock 'n' roll. Shot the evening of 26th August, 2000, ‘Live At Slane Castle’, finds Adams soaring on performances of his chart-topping hits in a high-energy 90-minute set with a 20 song playlist.

In India his popularity knows no bounds. Whenever the man has set foot on Indian soil, he creates history. He is loved and will always be loved by young and old fans who grew up listening to his hits over the last 40 years.

This impressive performance will prove a revelation to a concert that happened 20 years go. Before an appreciative crowd of 56,000 fans in the natural amphitheater near Slane Castle in Ireland, Adams and his bandmates (drummer Mickey Curry and guitarist Keith Scott) provide a hard-driving set of Adams's best-known songs, moving quickly and confidently from rockers like It's Only Love to the chart-topping ballad (Everything I Do) I Do It for You, and the crowd proves its devotion with a massive sing-along.

Former Spice Girl Mel C. appears along with a lucky girl from the audience for a lively rendition of When You're Gone, and the entire concert is faithfully reproduced in crystal-clear 5.1-channel audio.

Adams, the "Groover from Vancouver", rose to prominence in the 1980s with rock hits such as Cuts Like a Knife and Summer of '69, but has also been a part of a Hollywood troubadour, scoring hits with songs such as Everything I Do, I Do It For You (from the film ‘Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves’) and Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman? (from ‘Don Juan DeMarco’).

Flanked by drummer Curry and guitarist Scott on guitar and his band, expect most of the singer's vast repertoire, including 18 Til I Die, Heaven, Run to You, Can't Stop This Thing We Started, Best of Me, Cloud Number 9, Best of Me, Please Forgive Me, among others.

While he has done this in India at all his shows, Adams proves he is a confident and charismatic host, bringing fans up on stage to sing with him, cracking jokes and generally behaving friendly with his fans on stage.

Other musical guests on the show are Davy Spillane and Chicane's Nick Bracegirdle. The crowd show their appreciation by singing to the songs. For the 56,000 people watching this concert, it was a night to remember. If you needed any more proof that Adams is the whitest man in rock, the stage set had everything white, featuring white outfits, white instruments, white backdrops.

The Bonus material on this DVD is the accompanying booklet which is colourful enough with a few photos of Bryan and information on the concert. On the disc there are backstage sections, which show him rehearsing to a crowd of two, and the "nerve wracking" moments just before he goes on stage, along with an interview and photo gallery. The gallery of photography shot by Anton Corbijn, is tastefully done.

It's a rockin' good show and fans in India are sure to love this, for it has all his earlier hits, a few that never make it to the Indian playlist.
