The Amazing Trio – (Music Today) Rs. 299/-

In the mood for some World Music, then ‘The Amazing Trio’ is a must on your play list and promises to give you an evening of pure unadulterated fusion at its very best. Three music maestros join forces to make one unforgettable jugalbandi – L. Subramaniam, the God of Indian violin, Jean Luc Ponty, the inimitable jazz – rock violinist and drummer Billy Cobham set the night on fire as they played Live at the Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival on the backdrop at Mumbai’s landmark Gateway of India way back in 2003.

For those who couldn’t make it to the show, here are three pieces ‘Conversation’, ‘Grasshopper’ and ‘Ganga’ (that features Kavita Krishnamurti) that should give you a feel of the magic that was created at this one of a kind concert. L. Subramaniam’s playing is crisp and soulful; Ponty’s playing is equally mind-blowing and gets you totally enthralled in the proceedings. Don’t miss the solos of L. Subramaniam, Cobham and even Ponty that are remarkable with each weaving their own magic.
