Independence Day special movies to watch out for

Independence Day is both, an occasion to celebrate and to remember the struggles of those who fought to give us the gift of a free and independent India. Saluting the real heroes here is a list of action-packed TV / Web series and Bollywood films, that will make your hearts swell with pride this Independence Day.

Indian Cinema has some applaud worthy list of patriotic movies, which are not only blockbusters but also evergreen and ignite the spirit of patriotism in people even today. Lately, Bollywood fans across the country have been treated with movies that awaken the spirit of national pride and helps our love for our country even deeper.

As India celebrates India’s 75th Independence Day, Bollywood fans have an opportunity to cherish some of India’s favourite movies starring some of India’s favourite heroes. Be it the ‘Thalaiva’ – Rajnikant, to India’s most eligible bachelor Salman or the classy ‘Rakul Preet Singh’.

Popular amongst the fans as India’s space movie, Tik Tik Tik takes the audience to a thrilling journey of daredevils led by a brilliant illusionist on a mission to save the planet. The film features Jayam Ravi, Nivetha Pethuraj, and Aaron Aziz in the lead roles.

Tiger Zinda Hai 

Swag se karo Independence Day ka Swagat with high-flying Tiger Zinda Hai that ticks all the boxes. The movie has a stellar cast with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles, has music that has wowed everyone with tracks such as Dil Diya Gallan and Swag se Swagat and more importantly has a message that teaches us one simple thing - with love and unity we can overcome all major hurdles in life.

Sivaji – The Boss

What better way then celebrating India’s favourite day with India’s favourite superstar. The movie that also stars Sriya Saran and Suman in pivotal roles revolve around Shivaji’s fight against corruption. Shivaji’s struggle and the road towards achieving his goal will only inspire you to fight against injustice.

The Forgotten Army- Azaadi Ke Liye

Sunny Kaushal starrer, The Forgotten Army unveils the lesser-known facts of Subhash Chandra Bose’s army. Lieutenant Sodhi and his army fight for Indian Independence during World War II as part of the Indian National Army; the journey and sacrifice of the Indian National Army from its soldiers' point of view. 

The Family Man

Manoj Bajpayee starrer, The Family Man is an edgy action-drama series, which tells the story of a middle-class man who works for a special cell of the National Investigation Agency. While he tries to protect the nation from terrorists, he also has to protect his family from the impact of his secretive, high-pressure, and low paying job. Binge-watch The Family Man now. 

Fauji

Shahrukh Khan starrer, Fauji is a highly popular TV Series about a batch of trainees into a commando school, their training and eventual induction as soldiers. Their life, their pranks and their punishments are showcased through various characters of the serial. 

Kashmir – The Story

Kashmir The Story is a documentary which gives an insight into the conflict-ridden region, showcasing facts as they are. The purely observational piece of storytelling is an honest attempt to showcase life in the valley.

Shikara

Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Shikara is the story of resilience in the face of insurmountable odds. It is also the story of a love that remains unextinguished through 30 years of exile. A timeless love story in the worst of times.

Raazi

Alia Bhatt starrer, Raazi is set in 1971, when the winds of war were blowing between India and Pakistan, Raazi – an adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s novel “Calling Sehmat” – is a true-life story involving a 20-year-old Kashmiri girl.
