Touch Me – Samantha Fox (Special Edition)

Page 3 stunner Samantha Fox's first album with the top 10 hits Touch me and Do ya do Ya and top 30 hit Hold on tight, made the hot blonde an overnight sensation.

The album with a real naughty title, was powered by songs filled with erotica with hungry moans, with her sleazy videos oozing nudity. Fox who used to be a topless model, a Page 3 girl in the Sun newspaper was now all over the place, making music, backed with a mix of rock guitar and synth pop, with Foxy displaying the nicer side of herself. The studded leather jacket on her album cover, shows how she planned it out so well, all straddled up in rocker gear.

As for the songs, the opener Touch Me is obviously the standout track, with its inviting lyrics and moans, it’s an out and out topper. The early Elvis-style rocker of Hold On Tight, down to the guitar are amazing with lyrics like "We're going to rock this town, we’re going to watch it rattle and roll are wild." The other top single, Do Ya Do Ya (Wanna Please Me), is another tough girl singing about whether a guy can give her what she needs. Things grow in intensity when the male backing singers sing "give me what I want, give me what I need". The last of the main line of songs is I'm All You Need which is more keyboard pop than the hard-driving soft rock and shows her nice girl side for the first time. The other pieces here include Suzie, Don't Leave Me With Your Boyfriend, a confessional to the title girl of what happened between Sam and him last night. This features a nice punchy brass section and catchy rhythm throughout. Wild Kinda Love is another synthesizer and hard guitar dance track of the kind of love and life she wants of living fast and feeling good like the boys. Want You To Want Me features a steady bass and 80's keyboard synths and a guitar solo.

The other tracks Baby I'm Lost For Words is in top new wave synths style, while Rockin' The City is heavily punkish riffs muted with some synths.

Fox surely knew how to make her music appealing, with a bit of naughtiness in her voice. I enjoyed listening to this album when it was out. Fox was the talk of the town in boys conversation for her fashion style, her beautiful body and her looks.

‘Touch Me’ is a must have for both fans of Samantha Fox and those who have a love of great 80s music. Sounded great in the mid 80's and sounds awesome even today. It brought back so many memories as being one of the 80s hottest albums. The gatefold album has lyrics to all song and also has a great image of the lady looking directly at you.
