Nothing better than an old classic sound in vinyl. Air Supply have always been a great duo and if you are into ballads, this is the best you’d ever get. I'm an old Air Supply fan and simply love every song they’ve ever made.
This album ‘Now and Forever’ is the soft rock band’s seventh studio album. It was the band's last platinum album in America, and their last album to continue the band's successful popularity.
The album contains the hits Even the Nights Are Better, along with Young Love and Two Less Lonely People in the World which believe me is one of their best songs of all time. There’s also favorites like Now and Forever, Come What May and many others. Not all of the songs were necessarily big hits, but nearly all of them were at least pleasant and on vinyl surely you’d be impressed by the overall sound quality.
Air Supply consisting of Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell is at their best bringing a heavy dose of very sincere and melodic pop. Most of the compositions sound as a whole, with a few songs that have become legendary and emotional, in this case these are the most famous Even The Nights Are Better, #2 billboard hit, its one of Air Supply most memorable songs and one that fits into pop masterpieces, it keeps a very little disco feeling and one of their best romantic features, while Two Less Lonely People In The World peaked at #13, its one of their most melodic songs with a feeling very close to Lost In Love, This song also makes for a superb wedding anthem. Apart from these two, the remaining songs still have a punch like the orchestral Young Love which became a minor hit, while Taking The Chance and the soaring Come What May are the minor hits.
Ballad after ballad, and some of the most melodic music ever, this is Air Supply. The harmonies are fantastic, the singing is phenomenal. Listen to Russel Hitchcock as he reaches the high, powerful notes in the gorgeous She never heard me call and the gorgeous melody and guitars in What kind of Girl.
In spite of its age, this copy of the album is in pristine condition, it brings so many memories of my younger days. One of the most beautiful albums of all time, I’d say. I just love every chord of every song on this album. The tracks are no less wonderful, there isn't a downer amongst the lot. Some may claim it is boring, uninspired and routine stuff, but I’d say Air Supply sing wonderfully and do what they’re doing amazingly well. No experimentation here, just sublime melodies and heart touching songs.
I highly recommend this set to any Air Supply fan and/or anyone simply wanting to hear some superb sounding music. You will not be disappointed. Generation X should surely tune in for some mushy songs.
