Blondie – The Best of Blondie

This definitely is the best Blondie compilation, and the reason is because it has all the big hit singles, Every song is an absolute cracker, and they do stand the test of time, for even now, if one puts on a Blondie track, you are sure to find someone taking the dance floor.

Every Blondie song you saw on the then most popular TV show Top of the Pops is here.  Dreaming, The Tide Is High, Heart of Glass, Atomic, Call Me, ('I'm Always Touched) by Your Presence Dear, Sunday Girl, and many more.

Blonde bombshell Debbie Harry whether you like it or not is what makes Blondie rock. For those who may not know, runour has it that she got her name when truckers catcalled her Blondie. The name stuck and evolved into her naming her band as Blondie. The band members too do justice to the songs although there have been numerous changes over the years when they were making music.

“Best of Blondie" has the full versions of The Tide is High, Rapture and Atomic fulfilling the needs of those fans who love this singer.

Blondie, as band were a seminal punk/new wave act from New York that managed to place the new sound onto the charts and help usher out disco and bring in the MTV age and managed to get a string of hits. Dating boyfriend guitarist Chris Stein, the band managed hits in the late 70s/early 80s (particularly in the U.K. where they had their biggest chart success). The band fused a lot of genres in their music, so you had reggae in The Tide is High and rap Rapture. There was also the sneering Rip Her To Shreds and timeless, erotic Atomic. Nearly everything on here is at least good, and One Way or Another and Call Me are some of the best pop singles ever, and of course the disco driven Heart of Glass.

Blondie was certainly a unique talent that paved the way for other female artists. The band also influenced many female musicians of the day and later including Madonna, Tina Weymouth of the Talking Heads, Annie Lennox, and Gwen Stefani. Her songs hold up quite well even today.

Contains almost all of Blondie's hits from the 80's. I'm sure you Blondie fans will love this collection of many of Blondie’s hits.
