Silver – Cliff Richard

The album name is a celebratory recognizing Sir Cliff's 25 years of recording. The Englishman who migrated from India was christened Harry Roger Webb, adopting the name Cliff Richard and has today made a name for himself. Richard has retained his superstar status, especially in his native England and Europe. Richard also holds Barbadian citizenship.

The album sees Cliff entering the techno pop/synthesizer world of the early 80s. While not one of his better albums, there are some quality tracks, especially the trademark ballads like Ocean Deep and Hold On. You can also tune in to the very catchy Silver’s Home Tonight, Never Say Die, and The Golden Days are Over. The low points on the album and there are just a few on this 10 track album, are Baby You’re a Dynamite and Love Stealer.

The 26th studio album was released in October 1983, and reached number 7 in the UK Albums Chart and earned Gold certification.  The album spawned three UK hit singles, the first being  Never Say Die (Give A Little Bit More), which was the lead single and reached number 15 in the UK Singles Chart. It was followed up by Please Don’t Fall In Love which reached number 7. In early 1984 Baby You’re Dynamite was released and reached number 27.

The album is sure to bring back bitter sweet memories as Never Say Die (Give a Little Bit More) is the best here and can help anyone over a broken heart.

The album sleeve has a silver embossed picture sleeve with lyrics printed on the reverse.
